IT Salary Reviews on the Rise Despite global economic meltdown, offshoring will hit double digit growth.
According to the latest XMG Asia Pacific's trends survey data on the Philippines, a total of 87% indicated they review IT salaries level annually due to the brisk labor movement in the country's ICT industry. Of this, 24% indicated they review salary levels twice a year. Only a small percentage review salaries more frequently, with 1% indicating they do a quarterly review. With the ongoing demand for highly talented IT professionals being absorbed in both traditional IT and technical support (voice and non-voice), XMG predicts that quarterly review of salaries will be on the rise - forecasting a 4% increase in companies conducting quarterly reviews by year end 2009. According to XMG Chief Analyst Lauro Vives, "Many organizations, in any country, will find they must regularly review their incentive structures in an economic environment that has always seen a smaller
percentage of total compensation derived from bonuses or non-monetary benefits." Vives adds, "In turn, the attention will always be focused on base compensation."
